FOREST BIODIVERSITY AND CONSERVATION (FBC)

Forest biodiversity and conservation are crucial as they provide essential information about the distribution and abundance of biodiversity, which is necessary for the long-term sustainable management, use and preservation of biodiverse areas. In the Forest Research Centre (FRC), the programme for biodiversity and conservation is divided into two main parts. The first part is plant diversity, which includes population genetics, fungi, and Sabah Red List Plants. The second part is wildlife diversity, which focuses on mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fishes, and insects.
